The next post-processing stages are annealing, glass toughening and heat treatment. Annealed molded and still hot products are used to prevent uneven internal tension from occurring. This is of great significance in the manufacture of glass bottles, as this increases their strength and allows to avoid the risk of splitting when they are used. Toughening of glass is an operation, as opposed to annealing. Toughened products are thermally and mechanically more durable. Among the toughened results, shatter-resistant glass can be obtained, which is used not only for the production of bottles, but also for glare in the windows of cars and airplanes (Olavi). To harden the glass, it is heated to 600° - 650°C, then it cools rapidly. Then, cold heat treatment of the glass is necessary if they can be performed.
