I believe that nine out of ten people will say that the material of the milky white bottle used to hold Moutai is ceramic. At first I thought it was a ceramic bottle, but if you look closely, you will find that the material of the bottle is actually glass.
The question is, why is the glass bottle milky white instead of transparent? Isn't the general liquor packaged in transparent glass bottles?
During the historical changes of Moutai wine bottles, ceramic bottles have indeed been used, but because the bottle shape is not very beautiful, it is prone to leakage, and the cost is relatively high, so glass bottles have been developed and used.
It was not until 1966 that Guizhou Qingzhen Glass Factory succeeded in trial-producing milky white glass bottles through technical research, which solved the problems of Moutai bottle leakage and aesthetics, thus gradually ending the history of using soil ceramic bottles for Moutai wine packaging.
So why use a milky glass bottle?
Because this wine bottle can protect from light and ultraviolet rays, it is more conducive to the storage of Moutai.
Light, especially ultraviolet rays, will destroy the quality of wine, causing the temperature of the wine body to rise, causing changes in nutrients such as acids and esters contained in the wine, and affecting the taste of the wine. Elevated temperature can also trigger the action of microorganisms, causing changes in the quality of wine and destroying the preservation value. Therefore, Moutai will be packaged in milky white glass bottles and placed in a dark, cool and ventilated place with constant temperature and humidity.
